We went to Salem, MA for some Halloweeny goodness Saturday, but before we were even out of town we saw this guy trying to cross a fairly busy street. So my BF picked him up and put him in the back of my truck and we gave him a ride across the street. He didn't really ENJOY our help, but he was very nice and didn't try to bite.
I could only assume since he was trying to cross the street, that he was trying to get to this pond. So that's where we dropped him off. These man made ponds are nice to look at in between all the office buildings, but that means all these critters are walking in the streets! Lucky for this guy he was crossing in front of my truck today, not so sure anyone else would stop and get him out of the road!
So after saving the day we proceeded to our final destination! Salem, MA. It was very busy considering its October and they have all kinds of Halloween stuff going on. Plus it was a very nice day for weather.
In addition to all of the new age, witchy and piratey goodness that Salem has to offer, there's also WATER! Glorious ocean water! Here's us in front of a big pirate ship.
Here's another view of the inlet at Pickering Warf and this is a nice little seagull who was posing for a photo. We ate at FINZ because you can't go near water and not get seafood! My BF and I split a Blackened Catfish Tostada appetizer (which was the size of a meal) and it was so delicious. A little spicy for my taste, but it did say CAJUN so that's just me, nothing they did wrong, LOL! Then I got Lobster Raviolis which were to die for.
Shopping was great, there are so many things to look at, but at times some of the stores were so crowded it was just too much congestion and foot traffic. I had wanted to go to the Pirate Museum, but we'll have to do that off season, when we got there the line was around the building ... no way was I spending my entire time standing in a line.
Swaps
Before we left I finished the bag for the Hogwart's Swap! Now I am working on the strap, but the main part is done!! I am IMPATIENTLY blocking it at the moment, I just put it outside on the porch because I am hoping it will dry quicker outside (not in direct sunlight of course). I can't wait until it is received by my swap pal so that I can add it to my finished projects list! I don't want to spoil it and post photos now. I am also working on another small item for this swap that I will try and finish up in the next few days. Then this package will be ready to go!
Last week I sent out my Fall Into Autumn Dishcloth Swap package. That one was anonymous, so I will not post details until its received.
